Ramadan Kareem
Rasūlullāh (sallallāhu alayhi wa sallam) said: “If the slaves of Allāh knew what is in the month of Ramadhān, my ummah would wish the entire year to be Ramadān.” (Musnad, Abū Ya‘lā)
Tarawih
Tarawih is a voluntary (nafl) night prayer performed only in Ramadan. Because it is a highly recommended Sunnah, masjids across the world hold congregational Taraweeh prayers on every night of this month.
We invite you to join us for Tarawih prayers at Lionel Road Community Hall (540 Westhorne Ave, London SE9 6DH). Let’s come together in worship, strengthen our faith, and embrace the blessings of this holy month.
🌙 Download our Imsakiyah below to learn our prayer times, including Tarawih schedules.

Zakah
Ramadan is a time of reflection and charity, making it the perfect time to give Zakah. Your Zakah donations purify your wealth and support vital initiatives including student education, hall rentals, Islamic seminars for children, and our ongoing mosque project. Your generosity helps us continue our work and support the community.

Ifthar Giving
“Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person will receive the same reward as that person, without diminishing the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.”
(Tirmidhi, Sawm, 82)
We provide iftar meals for Quran and Hifz students in Africa and Asia. Those who sponsor iftar meals will receive videos of the students breaking their fasts, and the students will pray for their generous supporters. Each iftar sponsorship costs £100 and supports approximately 20 students. Join us in this meaningful act of giving and share in the rewards of helping those in need.
Muqabalah
This Ramadan, join us for our Muqabalah sessions — a time to recite, reflect, and connect with the words of Allah.
🕒 Time: 1 hour before Tarawih prayers
We’ll come together to recite the Quran, strengthen our hearts, and just before Tarawih, share a Sohbet — a short, heartfelt reminder to uplift our souls.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”
— [Bukhari]
Sadaqah-Al Fitr
Rasulullah (s.a.w) said:
Allah Ta’ala has made Sadaqa Fitr Wajib, in order to purify the faster from pointless, useless and foul words and to feed the poor and needy. Whoever gives their Sadaqa Fitr before Salat on Eid day, then that will be an accepted Fitra. However, if they give after the prayer on Eid day, then it would be counted as a normal donation.”
Fidyah
Sawm is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and it’s this Pillar that dictates all able Muslims over the age of puberty must fast. Therefore, anyone who cannot or does not fast must compensate in some way.
